Go go gadget...

Are gadgets our new form of idol worship? I just finished this book and all I can think of as I'm taking pictures of my gadgets is, Aaron! Make us a god we can see and touch! (remember... when Moses was on the mountain getting 'the law'?).

So maybe I haven't gotten to the point of complete idoltry, but I do like my new phone. It does all sorts of cool little gadgety things, like tells me how far I've run, plays me FM radio, even takes pictures and edits them into cartoons. I realize I'm a little behind the times with all this stuff. I never thought I cared- just needed the phone for 'emergencies' (what kind of cereal do you want me to get???), but it is definitely sucking me in. Mike and I started our own phone plan, so I also have a new number to go with the phone. I plan on emailing the numer around as soon as I call a phone with caller ID and can write down my number...
Also newly aquired this week is my very own laser beam/ laser pointer pen (with alternating pen and stylus for when I really go crazy and get a palm pilot... er blackberry... whatever's cool right now). I was awarded this fancy little gadget after "passing" the train the trainer course for the new computer charting system we are going to be starting in the ED in March. They chose me as the 'computer savvy' one to help train people at night. And by computer savvy I think they mean 'the one who gets the best deals online shopping'. In any case- watch out for your pupils 'cause here I come!
