It frightens me that Dave looks like more women than men. And the Will Smith resemblance is really puzzling me.
I took Brittany's challenge and did celebrity face recognition on this picture of me and Morgan. It was really cute to see what it came up with. Especially since Morgan is Shirley Temple reincarnated. You can also morph yourself into a celeb.... which may be my next post...

Bowling with the Cougars in Vegas.
We are still basking in the glory of the BYU win over the Oregon Ducks in the Las vegas bowl last night. Thanks in part to our good friend Samuel Gallagher-Bohe, my old piano classmate Dan Coats and Erin's second cousin twice removed- Johnny Harline (pronounced Hairline or Heartline??)...and of course all the other players (ie: C.Brown who was amazing- and that other freshie from Southlake)---> We got the best Christmas present we could have asked for. My favorite part was when the one ESPN announcer was talking about how BYU better watch their backs before the game even started. Then right before halftime (or intermission, if you will) he started saying things like "I guess you were right [other announcer], your Cougars just might come out with a win".
I don't know a lot about football, but I know there are a lot of politics involved in collegiate playoff type games (esp. the BCS bowls). I think BYU proved that they would have stood a chance this year against many of the "better" NCAA teams- and my little heart is proud. One good thing I can say about the Ducks(insert voice of Mike's old roommate 'Steve' here) is, they had some pretty sweet costumes. I just loved those yellow hats!!

4 more days and counting.

If you couldn't deduce it yourself- these are Dave's second Christmas pictures. I just got the proofs online (that's why you all got the drunken Santa pictures in your Christmas cards:). Anywho- I'm not too terribly excited about how they turned out, but they're pretty cute. The Mexico airplane toy may have been a bad choice for Christmas pictures (not that I have anything against Mexico.. or Mexicans). We got this little name train from a kid on the street outside of the Duomo in Florence. We almost got it for free, too. The kid was selling stuff without a license (which apparently carries some type of fee or criminal punishment there) and the kid ran off as the Italian po-po rounded the corner, while we were counting out our Euro cents. We had to chase him down to pay him. ... ... Should've just let him walk away...

Gen Z: The Baby Einstein Generation.
Monday, December 18, 2006
If our generation is Generation Y or the MTV Generation, whatever they call us, I fear for my life as a parent. I thought I was a sneaky little Christmas gift finder, carefully unwrapping, untaping and re-wrapping without leaving a trace (you may be surprised by that given my history). Apparently though, kids of the next generation just go straight to the source to find out what Santa's bringing. Find the receipts. Never thought about that one... The purse hanging around the neck was a dead giveaway, though.
Daddy, why does Santa's beard smell like Coor's Light?
Sunday, December 17, 2006
I'm not sure why I feel the need to explain my latest blogging sabbatical, except to whine and make you all feel bad for me working 9 of the first 12 days of December. I have had the last few off and have been trying to do the laundry that piled up over that little stint. Between wash and dry loads, we found the time to take Dave to see Santa last night at the Mrs. Baird's Bakery Factory(which is incidentally right beside the Coor's Brewery). Dave was a trooper. I thought he would have a meltdown considering his latest little bouts with shyness. He didn't smile, but he didn't scream. That's all a mother can ask for, I guess.

After Clause we threw the clothes in the dryer and headed over to Morgan Lillie's house, for some unseasonably warm (not that I'm complaining) fun on the jumpoline. Bazzoongie! Dave's pants fell off at least three times while we were jumping. I'm not sure if that's naughty or nice, but I'm pretty sure he is still getting everything he asked for this Christmas.

So much for eggnog.

A Hidden Talent.
Thursday, December 07, 2006
As you all know, our son is a tiny genius. So it will come as no suprise to you when I say (not trying to brag) that he started spouting out letter names and recognizing letters last week. "Uuuu, Arrrr, Gee (pronounced like the karate outfit)". (Still not bragging) We're entering him in a spelling bee next week.
My Brother, The Transvestite.
Tuesday, December 05, 2006
Did I ever mention that I have the most fabulous brothers in the world? I went to see my oldest brother, Michael in an opera at TCU last week. It was a short opera comedy called Signor Deluso. They performed in a small, black box theater at TCU- and though my brother looked like "a transvestite" in his wig, I still got a teary eyed when he took his bow after the performance. Michael was the only non-music major in the show, but was still (I may be a little biased) one of the best male singers we heard. I can say with confidence that he was the funniest character in the show. Personally I dug both of his wigs. My favorite though, was the short blonde one. He looked a little... well... like me!
